The Barrie Baycats Baseball Club has an amazing team of Staff, Interns, and Volunteers who strive to create a fun environment for players, coaches, and fans. Join our team and get valuable experience while being part of a great atmosphere and having lots of fun. This may also be a great choice for those graduating from high school or have a mandatory work placement for post-secondary education in order to get those hours. Music and Jumbotron Operator
Internship Description
As a Music Operator Intern with the Barrie Baycats, you will be responsible for playing music throughout the game to enhance the overall fan experience and run our in-stadium jumbotron. From player walk-up songs, music during breaks, and showing videos and graphics on the jumbotron, you will help create the soundtrack of the game, energizing the crowd and amplifying the excitement. If you love sports, have an ear for music that gets people pumped up, and want to be part of a great team, this is the role for you!
Requirements
A wide taste in music appropriate for all ages is recommended
Must be able to attend all home games throughout the season
Excellent passion and knowledge of the game of baseball
What You Will Do
Play music during breaks in the action
Update and make sure the right things are on the jumbotron at different points in the game.
Play sound effects in crucial moments to hype up the crowd
Connect with our PA Announcer to coordinate player intros
Equipment Staff
Internship Description
The Barrie Baycats Baseball Club is seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as Equipment Staff. This hands-on role is essential to the game-to-game operations and provides a unique opportunity to gain experience in sports management and team logistics within a competitive baseball environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage and prepare baseballs home games
Ensure team water, Gatorade, Beer, and ice are stocked and available for players before, during, and after games
Assist with home game day setup, including dugout, field, and fan experience preparations
Pack and load equipment and supplies onto the bus for road games
Pick up food, drinks or other gameday supplies to bring to ballpark - Gas money provided
Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Drivers license and reliable access to a vehicle.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Must be able to lift and transport equipment
Previous experience in sports or team operations is a plus, but not required
