Royals Secure 5-0 Victory Over Baycats Behind Strong Pitching

BARRIE — The Guelph Royals perfected pitching and defence in a 5-0 win against the Barrie Baycats.

The game remained scoreless through six innings as both starting pitchers dueled on the mound. Guelph's Yuki Narita, who improved to 3-0 on the season, shut down the Baycats' lineup, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 6 over 6 scoreless frames. His precise control kept Barrie off balance all night.

The Royals' offense came alive with a pivotal seventh-inning rally, ignited by a timely double from Blake Simpson, who finished the night with 3 RBIs. Simpson's extra-base hit was part of a five-run inning that broke the deadlock. Guelph's other runs came courtesy of Garrett Takamatsu, who contributed a pair with a single, driving his season total to 18 RBIs.

Defensively, Guelph showcased their prowess, holding Barrie to just 3 hits. Cesar Rosado was magnificent for the Baycats, striking out nine batters over six innings of work.

The Royals' bullpen sealed the victory with Yomar Concepcion and Brandon Deans combining for 3 scoreless innings in relief, preserving the shutout.
