Noel McGarry-Doyle Returns to Baycats in 2022

BARRIE, March 6th, 2022 -  One of the IBL's best infielders is returning to the Barrie Baycats in 2022!

Noel McGarry-Doyle's rookie season was extremely impressive, and after signing a deal to play with the Baycats again this season, fans can look forward to watching him play the outfield at an elite level once again.

In 2021, McGarry-Doyle hit .348/.421/.500 last season, with 2 home runs and 11 RBI in 16 games with the club. A left-handed hitter, he's likely to fit in the top of the Baycats batting order as he did for much of last season. He re-joins an outfield that's also projected to include Avery Tuck.

"McGarry-Doyle was one of the most reliable top-of-the-order bats in the league last season," said Baycats Media Coordinator Patrick Melbourne. "With both [Avery] Tuck and McGarry-Doyle in the outfield, the Baycats are in great shape both offensively and defensively."

The Baycats have also re-signed Mike Duwyn for the 2022 season. In 2021, Duwyn hit .280 across eight games, with seven hits and a home run. Duwyn finished off the season with a hot streak - in two of his most recent three games, he had three hits, including a home run and a triple.

The Baycats open their season on Thursday, May 19th against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Tickets for all home games are available here. You can get all of your Baycats merch here, and view the 2022 season schedule here.
