BAYCATS SET FOR WIN-OR-GO-HOME WILD CARD SHOWDOWN IN GUELPH

Barrie, ON — The road to a CBL championship begins with one game for the Barrie Baycats.

The Baycats will travel to Guelph on Tuesday, September 1, to face the Guelph Royals in the Canadian Baseball League Wild Card Play-In Game. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with the winner advancing to the CBL Semifinals and the losing team seeing its 2026 season come to an end. Fans can watch the game on CBL TV or YouTube

Barrie and Guelph met six times during the regular season, with the Royals winning four of the six matchups. The Baycats finished 2-4 against Guelph, earning one victory at home and one on the road while dropping two games in each ballpark.

Tuesday's matchup gives the Baycats an opportunity to wipe the slate clean as the postseason begins, with the entire season coming down to one night in Guelph.

The winner will advance to face the CBL's top seed beginning next weekend in a best-of-seven semifinal series. The league's top seed will be either the Hamilton Cardinals or London Majors.

For Barrie, the path forward is simple: win Tuesday night and advance to the final four.
