BAYCATS SEASON COMES TO AN END AS JACKFISH CLAIM SECOND IBL TITLE
The Barrie Baycats’ 2025 season came to a close on Sunday afternoon in Welland, as the Jackfish claimed the championship with a 15-5 win in front of a packed crowd.
Barrie showed fight early, with Noel McGarry Doyle launching a solo home run and Nolan Machibroda driving in a run with one of his two hits on the day. Adam Odd added a two-RBI single, and Noah Hull chipped in a double and scored twice. Despite the offensive efforts, Welland’s big fifth inning proved too much to overcome.
While the final score wasn’t in the Baycats’ favour, this season was about much more than one game. Together, we set a new franchise record in attendance, with more fans than ever before filling Athletic Kulture Stadium to cheer us on. From Opening Day through the playoff run, your support made a difference — whether it was kids running the bases on Saturdays, families enjoying summer nights at the ballpark, or longtime fans backing the team every step of the way.
We’re proud of our players, coaches, volunteers, staff, and most of all, our incredible fans. Thank you for making 2025 a season to remember.
We can’t wait to see you back at the ballpark in 2026.
