Baycats Re-Sign Catcher Tyler Plumpton for 2026
Barrie, ON — The Barrie Baycats are pleased to announce the re-signing of catcher Tyler Plumpton, who will enter his eighth season with the organization.
A native of Peterborough, Ontario, Plumpton now resides in Barrie, where he also serves the community as a police officer. His long-standing connection to the Baycats began during the 2014 and 2015 seasons winning a pair of league championships, before returning to the club in 2021. Since then, Plumpton has remained a consistent and dependable presence on the roster.
Behind the plate, Plumpton is known for his excellent blocking ability and his strong rapport with the Baycats pitching staff, providing leadership and stability at the catcher position. Offensively, he continues to be one of the team’s most reliable hitters, consistently producing a high batting average and quality at-bats.
The Baycats are excited to have Plumpton back for another season and look forward to his continued contributions both on the field and within the Barrie community.
