THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN VOLUNTEERING WITH THE BARRIE BAYCATS! BELOW YOU WILL FIND A LIST OF FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  • Will I get paid? - Internships with the Barrie Baycats are unpaid 
  • When Will I hear back? - As soon as possible. We will do our best to get back to all applicants within 1-3 business days.
  • When Should Interns show up on gamedays? - Generally speaking, Interns should arrive no later than an hour before first pitch. Photographers must arrive no later than an hour and a half in order to capture some of batting practice. 
  • What is the time commitment required for these internships? - Interns are required to attend all home games for one of the two teams or around 20-30 home games in total. 
  • Is this internship program open to students only? - Absolutely not. If you like baseball and have something to add to our team then don’t hesitate to apply.
  • Can I receive academic credit for completing this internship? - Yes you will. Each gameday should credit 4-5 hours on average. As long as your academic institution gives you the go-ahead, you're good to get the credit you deserve.
  • Will I have the opportunity to work with both the IBL Baycats and 22U Junior Baycats teams? - Yes you will. If there are roles open.
  • What is the duration of the internship? - May 2025-September 2025
  • What kind of music will I be responsible for as a Music Operator Intern? - Play a wide range of music genres keeping the music up-beat and appropriate for all ages.
  • Can I help with the IBL Baycats games if I am assigned to the 22U Baycats? - Yes you absolutely can. However, it may not be in the exact role you have with the 22U Baycats.
  • How do I apply for one of the internships with the Barrie Baycats? - Click Here and fill out the form! 
  • How will my work be recognized or credited during the internship? - We appreciate all our Interns and Volunteers. Depending on what role you have, credit can come in different ways. All Interns and Volunteers are named on our Website and other areas like our gameday program, Broadcast feed credits, YouTube credits and descriptions, and in some cases announced by our PA Announcer at the end of each home game. Note: All photographers WILL get credit for photos used on the Baycats website, social media channels, and handouts (programs, baseball cards, etc)
  • Are the internships flexible with scheduling if I have other commitments? - Yes to a certain extent. Interns are very valuable to the Barrie Baycats and their absence is noticed. If you won’t be able to make a certain game, please give as much notice as possible.
  • Will I get feedback on my performance during the internship? - Yes, to whatever extent you desire. We have a lot of really smart people on our team who are there to help and make you better at what you do.
