ROSTER UPDATES: Baycats Sign White, Activate Infante As Signing Deadline Passes

BARRIE - The Barrie Baycats have signed a familiar face.

On the final day to sign players before the 2023 Intercounty Baseball League signing deadline, the Baycats have signed pitcher Cole White.

White, 26, is a right-handed pitcher from Barrie. He was a member of the IBL Championship Barrie Baycats teams of 2016 and 2017, pitching in nine games across the two seasons as a 19-year old and 20-year old.

White joins a revamped Baycats bullpen that is also set to include Garner Spoljaric as he continues his injury recovery, as well as Chris Cox, Brad Grieveson, Brandon Hillier, Max Lojko, Aidan Rossel, and Evan Soules. Spoljaric's brother Turner, signed recently by the Baycats, is set to join the team's rotation soon.

The Baycats have also activated Branfy Infante from the Inactive List. Infante, a member of the Baycats, is two games short of his 300th game with the team. He rejoins the team as he recovers from an injury that has kept him away from game action since May 25.

Barrie also placed Virot Siharath on the Inactive List on the final day before the signing season. Siharath, heading to school for the fall, pitched in five games for the Baycats in 2023, striking out 13 in 6 2/3 innings pitched.

Finally, the Baycats have released Adam Khan. Khan, an important member of the 2022 and 2023 Baycats teams, impressed fans on and off the field with his ability to both start and come out of the bullpen. Khan's best game with the Baycats was on June 25, 2022, when he held the eventual champion London Majors to one run over seven innings in a Barrie win.

The team would like to thank both Khan and Siharath and wish them the best in their upcoming plans both off and on the field.
