ROSTER MOVES: Baycats Update Active Roster Ahead of Wednesday Game

BARRIE - The Barrie Baycats have updated their active roster.

The Baycats have traded infielder Marcel Lacasse to the Kitchener Panthers for future considerations.

Lacasse, who joined the Baycats for the first time in 2021, hit .273 across his debut season with the team. Thus far in 2023, he has hit .154 with a home run and three RBI in 26 at-bats. He joins a Panthers lineup that also features Raul Gonzalez, who is currently second in the Intercounty Baseball League with six home runs. The Barrie Baycats would like to wish Lacasse the best as he moves to the Kitchener Panthers.

The Barrie Baycats have also released catcher Dylan Shepherd. Shepherd joined the Baycats in 2022, notably hitting a big home run in his first game played at Vintage Throne Stadium. The Baycats would also like to wish the best to Shepherd in his future baseball career.

Infielder Charlie Iriotakis has joined the team as of the team's most recent home game and is expected to be active for tonight's game in Toronto.

The Baycats face Toronto in their next game, which is on June 14th at Dominico Field at Christie Pits. Admission to Toronto home games is free, as is access to their online video feed, accessible here.
