GAME PREVIEW - BAYCATS AT MAJORS

by Sam Aucoin

LONDON – It was a long game yesterday afternoon but the Barrie Baycats have another game today. This time, they are in the Forest City to take on the London Majors at the historic Labatt Park.

This may be the best time for Barrie to play London as the Majors have lost four in a row and have dropped to 4-7. The Baycats sit tied with Kitchener and Hamilton for third place after their win yesterday. The Cats have won three in a row.

Lineup And Starting Pitcher

Same top of the order as usual and for good reason. Noel McGarry-Doyle, Canice Ejoh, Starlin Rodriguez, and Ryan Rijo combined to go 10/21 yesterday with eight RBIs and eight runs scored. Adam Odd moves to third base this afternoon to make room for Carson Burns who is back in at shortstop. Hayden Jaco also gets another start at first base.

Today’s starter is the lefty Frank Garcés who pitched pretty well against a tuff Jackfish lineup in his last start. Frank didn’t pick up the win as Barrie lost 9-4 but got his team into the seventh inning.

Here is the Full Lineup

1. LF - Noel McGarry-Doyle

2. CF - Canice Ejoh

3. RF - Starlin Rodriguez

4. DH - Ryan Rjio

5. 1B - Hayden Jaco

6. 3B - Adam Odd

7. C - Josh Cote

8. SS - Carson Burns

9. 2B - Owen Jansen

- SP - Frank Garcés

Players To Look Out For

Ryan Rijo: Coming off of a two-home run game yesterday, Ryan Rijo seems to have found his power stroke. This adds another weapon to Barrie’s lineup. One that opposing pitchers will have to work around in order to have success.

Starlin Rodriguez: Starlin Rodriguez keeps hitting. It looks like he has fit very well in the three spot getting a lot of chances with runners on base. He also will be getting even more pitches to hit due to the fact that he bats right in front of Ryan Rijo who was mentioned above.

Where to watch

Today's game can be watched on Majors TV at 2 pm, enjoy!
