Former Baycat Custodio Finishes Impressive Season in Braves System

by Ryan Eakin

BARRIE - Minor League Baseball is coming to an end tomorrow, and because of that, teams throughout Minor League Baseball handed out its awards and honours to its most accomplished players during the 2019 season this weekend.

One of those players is Claudio Custodio, a member of the Atlanta Braves organization.

Custodio -- who pitched for the Barrie Baycats in 2017 -- had a dominant season in Double-A for the Braves' Double-A team, the Mississippi Braves.

He went 5-4 with an earned run average of 2.66 in thirty games pitched.

What stands out the most is his more underlying numbers.

He allowed just two home runs while striking out 62 batters to his 21 bases on balls.

His 1.05 WHIP was the best on the Braves and thus was awarded a plaque as a result.

The Baycats organization would like to congratulate Claudio on his 2019 season.
