GAME RECAP: Cote Hits Two Home Runs in Big Baycats Win Against Red Sox

by Patrick Melbourne

BRANTFORD - The Barrie Baycats won in a big way over the Brantford Red Sox, winning the Friday night game 15-6.

It was a great game for the Baycats offense - not only did the team score 15 runs, everyone in the batting order had at least one hit, and the newest Baycats player, Josh Cote, had a massive night. Cote hit two massive home runs in his first game with the team, giving him four RBI on the night. He also finished the game with a walk in addition to the two homers.

Cote, tonight's Baycats Player of the Game, is the second Baycats player this season to hit a home run in their debut with the Baycats; Dylan Shepherd also hit one in his first game with the team earlier this season.

Tonight's starting pitcher, Juan Benítez, was excellent on the mound - he went seven strong innings, giving up only three runs. He struck out 12 batters, and only walked one. Relievers Riley Hoover and Evan Soules closed out the game to complete a 15-6 win.
