Baycats Sign Millar for 2021 Season

by Ryan Eakin

BARRIE - The Barrie Baycats Baseball Club announced today that we have signed pitcher Kevin Millar for the 2021 season.

Millar, 19, is set to enter his freshman season at Southeastern CC after playing his travel ball career with the Ontario Blue Jays, where he was coached by former Baycats bench coach Joe Ellison.

The 6'8", 255 lbs Georgetown, Ontario native tops his fastball out at 94 MPH.

The righty is expected to compete for a starter's role in 2021.

Baycats manager Josh Matlow said he expects Millar to be an impact arm for this team, despite his age.

“Kevin is a huge arm, with his talent and mound presence we actually feel Kevin could be a starter in his first year with the Baycats, making him one of the youngest starters in the league.”

Millar said he cannot wait to get started with the Baycats.

“I’m looking forward to the upcoming season and helping Barrie win another championship. The Baycats are a perfect fit for me to help develop my skills and play at a high level with the top team over the summer between my years at school.”
