Baycats Sign Malik Williams for 2023 Season

BARRIE - The Barrie Baycats have signed infielder Malik Williams for the 2023 season.

Williams, 24, is from Toronto, Ontario, and he hit .357 with four home runs and 16 RBI across the 2022 season for the Baycats. He also hit four doubles for the team. He primarily plays first base.

"Malik was one of the team's strongest hitters in 2022," said Baycats TV analyst Patrick Melbourne. "He strengthens an already strong IBL lineup, providing strong power and good defense."

In a corresponding move, the Baycats have released infielder Charlie Iriotakis. The Baycats would like to thank Charlie for his time with the team, and wish him the best of luck in his future baseball career.
