Baycats Release Statement

BARRIE - The Barrie Baycats Baseball Club joins the rest of Canada in honouring the memory of the 215 Indigenous children whose lives were taken from them at a former residential school in Kamloops, British Columbia. We grieve for their families and we understand how traumatizing this is for Indigenous people all across this country. 

The Baycats Baseball Club fully recognizes that there is more to do to acknowledge this country's not-so-distant history of colonialism and that we all must do more to address the pain and suffering inflicted on First Nations, Inuit, and Metis.
