Baycats Name Nanos Team Doctor

by Ryan Eakin

BARRIE - The Barrie Baycats Baseball Club announced today that Dr. Katherine Nanos -- a Sports Medicine Physician -- has been named as our first-ever Team Doctor.

Nanos joins recently-hired Athletic Therapist Adam Murphy as apart of our revamped medical staff.

“Dr. Nanos will be an additional resource to keep our players healthy and on the field. We believe we have set the bar very high when it comes to our medical team and staff", said Baycats general and field manager Josh Matlow.

Dr. Nanos has worked with athletes competing in a variety of different sports and at a variety of levels, from “weekend warriors” to professional athletes (MLB, NBA, and NFL), and to swimmers.

Dr. Nanos also commonly uses ultrasound as an extension of her physical examination to aid in formulating a diagnosis.

To make an appointment to see Dr. Nanos, call 705-734-3340 or email smd@sportsmedicine.on.ca. Appointments are at Sports Medicine in Barrie, 480 Huronia Road, Suite 104. Fees are covered by OHIP.

Sports Medicine has kept the Baycats healthy and on the field winning championships since their partnership began in 2001.
