BAYCATS LOSE SLUGFEST IN BRANTFORD BY A SCORE OF 20-15

by Sam Aucoin

BRANTFORD – The Baycats lose a slugfest in Brantford today by a final score of 20-15. The pitching did not have its most productive game and the offense could not keep up.

Although the offense did not make it a full comeback, they still put 15 runs on the board. Big contributions from Noel McGarry-Doyle and Adam Odd. They each grabbed three hits with three RBI. The Baycats scored seven in the first and five in the sixth.

But the now 3-20 Brantford Red Sox came out on top. Every player in the Sox lineup had a hit including four hits from both Matthew Fabian and Gus Wilson. Evan Soules lasted just an inning and a third getting the loss. Aiden Armitage earned his first win of the season for Brantford pitching three and two-thirds.

Here are some notes from today's game. 1. Starlin Rodriguez left the game after a play at second with Fabian sliding in. No official word on what happened. 2. This is just Barrie’s second loss in their last 12 ball games. 3. Avery Tuck picked up his first two hits since rejoining the Cats. Tuck went two for four in the contest.

The Barrie Baycats will have a few days off before they head to Dominico Field at Christie Pits. Barrie will play their Highway 400 rivals on Wednesday night. Entry to the game is free. You can watch it on the Leafs' YouTube. The first pitch will be at 7:30 pm.
