Baycats Launch Stay-at-Home Initiative

by Ryan Eakin

BARRIE - The Barrie Baycats Baseball Club announced today a "Stay-at-Home" initiative to help flatten the COVID-19 curve.

Baycats general and field manager Josh Matlow stressed the importance of staying at home during these difficult times and said we can all make the best of this bad situation by coming together as a community.

"We have high hopes of getting on the field this summer and I think it’s important for everyone to do their part to help flatten the curve and make this summer a good, memorable time for all. What a lot of the new players have yet to realize is how important baseball and the Barrie Baycats are to the Barrie community.

"With positive vibes and messages from the players, we think it’s important for all Baycats fans as well people in the Barrie community to stay positive in these tough times and remember all the great moments' life offers when things are back to normal, including a Baycats game at Coates stadium!

"Until then, please stay home and do your part to chip in, we are doing our part, are you doing yours!?”

In the video below on our new Youtube channel -- which we encourage all of you to subscribe to -- you can see how many of our coaches and players are spending their time in self-isolation.

We would love to see how you are spending your time in self-isolation too!

To do so, post an Instagram Story of you doing your daily activities and tag @barriebaycats in the process!

We will reshare the best ones in our stories.
