BAYCATS BEAT RED SOX 7-2 FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN

by Sam Aucoin

BARRIE — Make it two in a row for the Barrie Baycats as they take down the Brantford Red Sox 7-2 today at Vintage Throne Stadium.

It was another good day for the offense, scoring seven runs thanks to a couple of three-run innings late in the game. OF Starlin Rodriguez had a big day hitting his first home run of the season collecting three hits and three runs driven in.

Baycats starter Christian Mullen had to leave today’s game in the top of the first with a shoulder injury. The team says he is day-to-day for precautionary reasons.

Evan Soules came in from the Bullpen after Mullen’s injury and pitched eight and a third innings with nine strikeouts picking up the win (1).

The Barrie Baycats will look to make it three in a row this Thursday against the Hamilton Cardinals. The first pitch is at 7:30 at Vintage Throne Stadium. Get your tickets HERE.
