ADAM ODD'S TWO HOME RUNS ARE NOT ENOUGH IN 4-2 LOSS TO KITCHENER

by Sam Aucoin

KITCHENER – The Barrie Baycats came up just short tonight in Kitchener failing 4-2 to the Panthers. The Kitchener Panthers knocked two home runs off starter Jeifry Nunez and that proved to be the difference in this one. Adam Odd smacked a pair of bombs in this game for Barrie.

The home team got off to a good start early on. With Andy Leader and Nick Parsons on base, Liam Wilson brought them both in on a single, making it 2-0. They would add on two more in the third and fourth innings thanks to Leader and Tyler Hinrikus, each connecting on long balls to extend the lead to 4-0.

There were just a few mistakes thrown by Nunez, Jeifry pitched pretty well giving his team five innings with four punchouts. But there were even fewer mistakes by Christian Hauck, the starter for the Panthers. Hauch tossed six innings allowing one run and striking out six. Adam Odd was the only blemish picking up his fourth and fifth home runs of the season.

The Barrie Baycats are back home this Thursday when they welcome the Hamilton Cardinals to Vintage Throne Stadium. The game starts at 7:35 pm. Get your tickets here. You can stream the game live on Baycats TV
