Baycats Sign Left-Handed Pitcher Juan Mejia for 2026
Barrie, ON — The Barrie Baycats have signed left-handed pitcher Juan Mejia, adding a proven and experienced arm to the pitching staff.
Mejia is from Cotui, Dominican Republic and brings an extensive professional background after spending six seasons (seven years) in the Texas Rangers organization. During his time in the Rangers’ minor league system, Mejia reached as high as Triple-A in 2023, highlighting his progression through the professional ranks.
Across six seasons in the Rangers system, Mejia compiled a 3.53 earned run average, recording 251 strikeouts over 303.1 innings pitched. His consistency, durability, and ability to miss bats make him a valuable addition to the Baycats pitching staff.
