Baycats Sign Right-Handed Pitcher Breidy Encarnacion for 2026

Barrie, ON — The Barrie Baycats have signed right-handed pitcher Breidy Encarnacion, adding another high-level professional arm to the pitching staff.

Encarnacion, from Tamayo, Dominican Republic, spent five seasons in the Miami Marlins organization, gaining experience throughout their minor league system. He reached as high as Triple-A in 2023, showcasing his ability to compete at the upper levels of professional baseball.

His best professional season came in 2023, when Encarnacion appeared in 41 games across four minor league levels, posting an impressive 2.15 earned run average with 87 strikeouts over 75.1 innings pitched. Across his five seasons in the Marlins system, he compiled a 3.18 ERA, recording 208 strikeouts in 178.1 innings pitched, highlighting both his effectiveness and durability.
