TORONTO - 2-4-3

BARRIE - 7-9-2

BIGGEST PLAY OF THE GAME: Up 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Atkinson hit a two-run single to right field to give the Baycats a 4-0 lead.

NEWS AND NOTES FROM THE GAME: Baycats manager Angus Roy was suspended for tonight's ballgame due "excessive arguing," in Tuesday's loss to the Brantford Red Sox.

Meanwhile, in the bottom of the eighth inning, Baycats catcher Branfy Infante stole home.

On stealing home: "Since I got to third base I was thinking of doing it," said Infante. "He (Maple Leafs catcher Justin Marra) looked at me once guessing I was up to something, but after he threw the ball back to their pitcher I was going to do it."

On Guerrero: "He's gearing up for the playoffs," said Infante. "He has thrown a lot of innings for us this season and in his last two starts in particular have been very good for us."

On the pennant race between them and the Panthers: "Kitchener has a really good team," said Infante. "We're going to keep fighting to try and get first place. I think we're playing well right now, so we're going to try and get first place so we have home field throughout the playoffs."

NEXT UP: Saturday evening, the Baycats look for revenge against the Red Sox.

First pitch from Coates Stadium s scheduled for 7:00 PM
