Junior Baycat

Since our franchise was formed, particular attention has been given to children who accompany their parents to our home games. The small fry sign in when they arrive at the park and then are eligible to win prizes throughout the game and then go 'on-field' for a ball toss during the game. Additional activities are planned to have the
young fans participate in other on-field activities before, during and after the games. They are welcomed to run the bases after each game. On many occasions, Junior Baycats have thrown out the first pitch to start the game. These Junior Baycats will be our future fans so it is very important to expose them to great baseball and opportunity to have fun while at each game. The Baycats policy has always been to admit children 12 and under at no charge.

Baycats Mascot

This year's Volunteer
The Barrie Baycats introduced a mascot to the IBL in our inaugural season, 2001. 'Cool Cat' entertains at all home games and he/she is always a hit with the kids. The mascot gets invited to community events to entertain there as well. Volunteers don the mascot suit in all kinds of weather. The mascot is just one more way in which the organization positions the team to be just like baseball in the Major and Minor leagues in Canada and the United States .
